Resumo: Patient safety is one of the fundamental aspects for the qualification of health care. For quality and harm-free health care, it is necessary that the patient safety culture be part of the training of health professionals. The inclusion of patient safety in Higher Education is one of the axes of the National Patient Safety Program. Studies on the teaching of patient safety and its inclusion in health care curricula are necessary to improve the educational practices of this discipline. This study aims to analyze the insertion of teaching the subject of Patient Safety in the pedagogical projects of courses at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dentistry and Nursing of a Public Higher Education Institution located in the city of Fortaleza, state of Ceará, Brazil. The study consists of documentary research with a qualitative approach and exploratory character. The scenario is formed by Pharmacy, Dentistry and Nursing courses. Data collection conducted from the pedagogical projects of the courses. Data analysis conducted through using the content analysis technique (BARDIN, 2016) organized in three phases: pre-analysis; exploration of the material and treatment of the results through inference and interpretation. The results obtained in the research revealed that the pedagogical projects are not influenced by the National Patient Safety Program because they were created before the program. However, all projects have disciplines that address the main contents related to the theme. It concludes that there is adherence to the contents identified to the patient safety teaching topics suggested by the World Health Organization multidisciplinary curriculum guide for patient safety. However, there is an absence of themes related to the conceptual standardization of the theme. It concludes, therefore, that patient safety is included in the curriculum, although in a fragmented and disjointed way and that it is necessary to integrate the contents related to the theme so that they permeate the entire curriculum.
