Resumo: It deals with a study carried out in the Directory of Research Groups in Brazil (DGP), registered by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). It is supported by the following questions: What is the universe of research groups in the field of education that work on race relations in the CNPq Research Groups Directory? What themes are studied by the Research Groups? Its general objective is to investigate the scope of research groups on race relations in the CNPq directory, which develop studies on the themes: Law 10.639 / 03, racial equality, black women, affirmative actions, institutional racism, black movement and Africanities. And as specific objectives: to recover the research groups on the aforementioned themes; present and reflect on research groups and their themes in the area of education; highlight institutions and regions most represented by the groups. It presents an exploratory and descriptive research carried out through searches and data retrieval in the Directory, developing a bibliographic review on the themes studied in this research. It exposes the areas, institutions and regions, of which the study groups are part. It makes a cut, selecting the women leaders of the research groups in the area of education in the Northeast region. It concludes by presenting the results on the identified research groups, the areas, regions and institutions, identifying the women leaders of the study groups of the northeast region in the area of Education.
