Under the Higher Education Accounting in Brazil, changes driven by changes in educational legislation awaken the need for reflection on how HEIs are preparing and adapting to meet new trends on how teachers use technology resources while tool for preparing future professionals and how these are being updated to use these resources in carrying out their activities. Before this issue came the motivation to conduct research in São Luís do Maranhão in order to determine whether the IES Course of Accounting Sciences are promoting the use of semi-distance mode of education and how they are contemplating the use of ICT in the teaching of this mode. However, the specific objectives were pursued: Check the possibilities and limitations for undergraduate courses in Accounting in the use of ICT; Lift and record the subjects addressed in the form of semi-distance education courses in Accounting and their specific methodologies; characterize performance of teachers in the use of ICT in the course and identify how to operationalize this type of teaching within the educational project of the classroom courses in Accounting Sciences. The typology of this research is descriptive and that the studies submitted to research and identify the characteristics of the facts surrounding the use of ICT resources in semi-distance mode of education of undergraduate courses in Accounting from IES in São Luís / MA. Is based on secondary data obtained through literature, documentary and primary data collected in field research that occurred in five private institutions that offer courses in Accounting and University. The research population consists of the course coordinators and teachers in semi-distance mode of education. During field research, structured interviews were conducted with the coordinators of the courses in Accounting and administered questionnaires to teachers who use the semi-distance mode. Results showed that the mode is used for 50% of HEIs surveyed, but the degree of utilization was found to be shallow, not exceeding 5% of total subjects. The IES has provided adequately the technological tools that promote the use of new ICTs in the teaching-learning and also provided refresher training on the use of these. The semi-distance mode of education has shown modest use by courses in Accounting Sciences in São Luís, but shows potential for expansion through the adoption of professional disciplines of the course. An interesting aspect for future work would be to expand this research with the inclusion of students, assess their view on the use and impact of semi-distance mode of education. |
