Resumo: It analyzes the TeleMeios software, supported by its history - the state of its latest version - in its development and perspectives, in view of the technical-pedagogical potential of this environment for Education. The investigation was classified as descriptive and the Fedathi Sequence was used as a research methodology in the development of the Dissertation hereby sustained. As a result, TeleMeios was observed as a Virtual Teaching Environment conducive to the experience of synchronous virtual teaching and learning situations, with mediation in the teaching methodology Sequence Fedathi. In such circumstances, the teacher, in the midst of an enlarged classroom, mediates the collaborative constitution of student knowledge, accompanying and intervening, when necessary, in carrying out the proposed activities. In addition, an updated, validated and approved version of TeleMeios was obtained to run on a Windows Operating System, capable of being integrated into the Moodle learning management system and the web conferencing system of the National Teaching and Research Network. Also, an initial version for the Linux Operating System was tested and approved and the development of a Peer-to-Peer approach was started. As perspectives for the development of this software, the continuity of the implementation of the Peer-to-Peer architecture and the resource of sharing a virtual machine were framed, as well as its integration with the other virtual environments. Finally, the importance of the TeleMeios Virtual Teaching Environment in virtual educational contexts is highlighted, considering. Above all, its technical-pedagogical, educational and communicative possibilities in Network Education.
