Resumo: |
To live well, in addiüon to being an aspiration of every human being, is his ■ inherent right. But the majority of the inhabitants of the planet is below the line of what would be considered as reasonable living. We consider that for a community to live well, it needs sanitation, work, education, medicai Services, leisure, safety and dwelling, for this is the modus vtvendi we know. We try to demonstrate, through this study, that the aspired quality of life can not be dissociated from the care of the environment. For this, we have sectorized the study for the State of Ceará and have realized a survey of the sanitation situation and the mortality incidence, of the infections diseases of the State. This is because a poor State of a developing nation reflects the general conditions of the majority of the inhabitants of the Planet Earth. We consider these conditions precarious because during the entire demographic, economic, cultural and social growth of mau, there was no concern about Nature. If he had been more careful about the source of his subsistence - for this is what Nature represents -, he would have been in another situation. However, this is not a dominant thought. Each one desires to live well but in his individual way. Thus, when they become legislators, planners or executors, they put forth their deeds according to the premises in which they evolved. If we see health in the environmental context, we feel that the solution to its problems can not be found outside of sustainable development, for the way of life we seek corresponds to the type of development we want. Only by sustainable living, the quality of life which today is restricted to a small group can be extended to the largest possible number of individuais, thus erradicating this ethical fester which is misery. |
