Resumo: The creation and development of digital information and communication technologies have transformed the forms of interaction today, allowing the circulation of information and knowledge more quickly and globally, as well as transforming various sectors of society. In this context, education began to implement such technologies in its teaching modalities, starting from a totally face-to-face teaching that does not use digital devices such as computers and cell phones, through a hybrid teaching with face-to-face and distance moments, to fully distance modalities. The research describes the use of digital information and communication technologies and their use in distance education, especially in virtual learning environments such as Moodle. The general objective of the study is to understand the impact of digital technologies on the teaching and learning process during professional training. The study's target audience is employees working at the Central Library of the Federal University of Amazonas. The methodology used to interpret the data has a quantitative and qualitative nature through a questionnaire with open and closed questions. As a result, a preference for distance learning courses was found in the professional training process, in which participants report familiarity with the use of technologies. As main positive points, they highlight the flexibility of schedules and the place of study, which can be done anywhere; among the negative points, they highlight the difficulty of organizing a study routine. The main demand concerns the need for continued training. In this way, it demonstrates the importance of professional training through distance courses allowing access to a greater number of professionals to continuing education.
