The disorderly urban growing up is one of main causes of water resources degradation. This degradation is started with cutting of Forest cover and land ocupation and then putting wastewater in rivers. The riparian forests are looking like APPs (Permanent Preservation Areas). It´s because riparian forests work like filters, fading pollutants, and making the regulation of water temperature. Because of this functionality, contributing to water quality improvement, the riparian forests are, actually one of BMPs (Best Management Practice) to water resources. In this time, this work had a finality to study the riparian forests influences in stretch of Jacarecica River, placed in urban growing up land of Maceió. This study was result through getting datas of precipitation, flows in river and quality parameters in dry time and rainy time, in the morning and in the afternoon, to make the results in stretch with riparian forests and without riparian forests. Because this basin have high urban interference, the most part of obtained datas looked low correlation. Despite of this, with the results of some parameters was possible look positives riparian forests influences about water quality, like damping, in the rain, of temperature outliers. The same was looking with other parameters, like settleable solids, apparent collor, turbidity and coliforms. The others (Fe, P, nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, pH, conductivity, STD, OD e DBO) didn´t show satisfactory datas to make comparation. Is though that this happened because diffuses effluents puttings, with undetermined frequency and quality.
