Resumo: | The insertion of Information and Communication Technologies in Education (TIC) is unavoidable, since these tools are part of the daily life of teachers and students. Using them in classrooms can enable new pedagogical practices and motivate learning. It took advantage of this focus for a reflection on the use of the mobile devices inserted in the process of teaching and learning, employed by students of the medical course and their medical teachers, with the purpose of potentializing and dynamizing the teaching/learning process. The objectives of the study were to analyze the current use of mobile devices and to investigate the perception of medical students and medical preceptors about information technology, particularly mobile technology, as a component of their learning experience in medical education, and to identify the barriers of students to the implementation of mobile technology. The research was carried out with the medical students of the Medical School (FAMED) of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), and medical professionals in contact with the students in the University Hospital Professor Alberto Antunes (HUPAA), reference hospital of the students of the area related to UFAL. After the literary review, a Transversal/Observational study was conducted with a qualitative and quantitative approach, with a descriptive and exploratory character using as a tool for data collection a questionnaire of sixteen points published and used as an instrument of research in the article: “Smartphone Use and Acceptability Among Clinical Medical Students: A Questionnaire-Based Study”, designed to elucidate, the proportion of participants who have smartphones; how these devices were used for education; and the perceived advantages and disadvantages of introducing smartphones into the medical curriculum in the future. A computerized textual analysis was carried out using IRAMUTEQ software, which allows statistical analyzes on textual data and on individual/word tables. On the quantitative analysis, we used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 23) to perform descriptive statistical analyzes, generating descriptive statistics, frequency and percentage, only. The purpose of this study was to use only the results of the qualitative analysis, which point to a good acceptance by the students and teachers of the medical course, and they believe in the potential of this tool as an instrument that facilitates the teaching process. These results may support the institution analyzed in the development and improvement of pedagogical practices involving mobile technologies for education. This work generated as an illustrative video that shows the presence of technology in our daily activities and academic life, bringing changes in our behavior and challenging the traditional style of teaching. It emphasizes the concept of mobile learning as an education strategy and an auxiliary tool in medical practice, and the importance of the teacher as a conciliator of the educational advantages provided by technology is unquestionable. The product will be published on the institution's website, contributing to the academic community being easily accessible, and a mechanism of persuasion and attitude change on the use of mobile technology as a tool of the teaching-learning process |
