This work seeks to offer special attention to the Xukuru-Kariri demarcation and resumption processes in Palmeira dos Índios - AL. After the processes of reduction and expulsion from the territories, imposed by the colonial situation, the people started from the first half of the 20th century to seek with greater intensity the recovery, even if partial, of those territories. This recovery process, in turn, can occur according to the administrative procedures of the Brazilian state structure, or it can also occur due to resumes that have become more popular as an indigenous strategy for managing and recovering territories. There was no effort to try to show a total convergence between the Xukuru-Kariri people, in fact conflicts played a central role in understanding the dynamics of the various Xukuru-Kariri political groups.
