Da tradição na província à sua superação: a crítica literária nos jornais de Alagoas (décadas de 60, 70 e 80)

This research proposes the analysis of a local literary critical produced in the 1960 s, 1970 s and 1980 s and diffused through printed newspapers such as Correio de Maceió, Jornal de Alagoas, Gazeta de Alagoas and Tribuna de Alagoas. Starting from a cultural and aesthetic view, based on Cornejo Polar (2000) and on the studied critics José Casado, Raul Lima, Paulo de Castro Silveira, Joaquim Inojosa and Marcos de Farias Costa , we analyze two distinct categories: the impressionist criticism and the surpassing of localism as cultural identity expression, which opposes itself to a dialog with the other (alterity). Our goal is to show that the local critical production brought, in the mentioned period, although in different levels, a remarkable reflection on the judicious exercise. We also aim to emphasize the predominant role that journalism performed to the wide spreading of critical thought at that time, among us, relating it, as a way of diffusing ideas, to the historical time 60 s, 70 s and 80 s and to the route of cultural identity critical treatment, which begins in the localism blended with cultural rigidness, as Ángel Rama (2001) discuses, and places itself as far as its surpassing.
