Resumo: |
This research aims to understand the experience of the female prison space on the restructuring of the everyday sociospatial relations of criminals women in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná. Our empirical reference was the Mini – Prision Hildebrando de Souza, located in Ponta Grossa, from which we conducted seventeen semi-structured interviews with women incarcerated during the months of October 2009 to January 2010, as well as data collection through questionnaires answered by the inmates. Likewise, we conducted interviews with eight women who were discharged from prision space. The female criminality, as well as the number of incarcerated women is growing significantly in Brazil. However, the Academy still finds difificulty in exploring this theme, if not only for its controversy, also for the lack of consistent methodologies. Even the Feminist perspectivies of science are constraints in these discussions, possibly because they put down the idea, so consolidated in our social imaginary, of women as fragile, passive and docile beings. It is imperative to note that the carceral spatiality is not fixes, immutable, subdued, as often imagined. The prision space is designed, in our view, as a product of interrelations, as a sphere that allows the coexistence of multiplicity, always under construction. The concept if gender is, the same way, an interesting component analysis for the dynamics of prision spaces, since it is important to note that the spatiality is not experienced equally by all subjects. We have observed that the two groups of interviewed women has a similar profile. This women are, mostly, poor, with low education and income. They are, likewise, mostly mothers, which becomes, therfore, their children participating in the carceral dynamics. We can concluded that the retail system of drug‟s traffic is growing in the city of Ponta Grossa. We noted too, how women are entering in this dynamic. The women incarcerated in the city of Ponta Grossa are mostly linked in some way with drugs, getting this position of centrality in their speeches. Likewise, we concluded from their speech that although formally controlated, these women found ways to subvert this order in their daily lives. Regarding the spatial experiences of women ex-prisioners of Ponta Grossa evidences that they are rarely able to fully resume their daily lives after incarcerations. Likewise, the body conditioning imposed by prison spatiality remains in their actions more imperceptible. Their greates difficulties are related to the sentimental separation of their children, family and partners. The stigmatization of these people by the society also implies a lower probability of getting back their professional lives. |
