This work deals to the analyzis of the multifactor productivity index, as well as its parcial productivity for the agroindustry of South region from Brazil. To do it, the PIA, published by IBGE was used, for the years of 1996 and 2005. By using these data, it was possible to show the importancy of agroindustry to South region. This work showed the importance of the agroindustry to South region from Brasil, such as the importance that this is the creation of labor and in participation of the industry in the Gross-output and the net-output in relation to the brasilian processing industry and the South region. Following to that, the aproximation of Tornquivst indeed metodology was used to calculate the productivity. There was, with the construction of partial productivity index, that the capital input and the labor input of the agroindustry showed itself productive. And with the use of the Tornqvist method to the calculation multifactor productivity, the agroindustry showed a productivity growth of 5% at the end of the period analyzed.
