Resumo: Analyzing the cultural history - that evidences the doubly prejudice that children's/juvenile female public has been suffered - this dissertation, based on the idea that literature can also be read as representation (COMPAGNON, 2001), aimed to do a reading of narratives produced for the children's/juvenile female Brazilian public, in different periods - the decades from 1930 to 1960 and at the contemporary - in order to identify the representation of the female figure embodied in these narratives, through its characters. The corpus is composed by thirty narratives from Coleção Menina e Moça, published between 1930 and 1960 by José Olympio publishing house, and two collections from contemporary children's/juvenile bestsellers, such as four narratives from the Série Fazendo Meu Filme, by the author Paula Pimenta, Gutenberg publishing house, and five from Série Retratos de Malu, by the author Thalita Rebolledo, Rocco publishing house. We used a qualitative thodology, with bibliographical and textual analysis. Among the theoretical approached to understanding the relationship between Literature and Cultural Industry, include studies of Adorno and Horkheimer (1990), Eco (1979), Bourdieu (1982), Sodré (1988) and Pellegrini (2001), in addition to contributions from authors whose researches are related specifically to the Brazilian Children's and Juvenile Literature, such as Lajolo and Zilberman (1991), Lajolo (2000), Zilbermann (1982), Coelho (2010) and Colomer (2003). For the appropriation of the concept of literature as well as representation, we considered studies from Compagnon (2001), Chartier (1989), Fields (1992), Reis (1992) and, in sociological studies related to social representations of women, we considered Rocha-Coutinho (1994), Beauvoir (2000), Cunha (1999) and Del Priore (1995), which confirmed the historical and ideological demarcation of the social roles of the sexes. From this study, it was verified in the analyzed texts, implicitly or explicitly, the incorporation of some narrative expedients and discursive protocols that project (configuration) a woman profile consisten t with the standards imposed by the patriarchal society. From the comparison of the representatives narratives in both historical periods selected, it was noted that contemporary children's/juvenile bestsellers foreshadow an attempt to break the romantic stereotype of the female figure and the consequent determination of marital bliss - and their implications - as the only possibility for the full realization of women, without, however, break completely with the traditional ideologies.
