Resumo: | The trauma has become in recent years a disease that plagues society. Specifically in the case of car accidents thousands of lives are compromised each year, making a constant need in the discussion and planning of prevention and treatment of these victims. Educational, punitive and health management measures should be taken seriously because it is understood that the trauma is preventable cause. With the development of automotive technology in the last decade there was a significant increase in vehicle fleet in Brazil and in the world, which somehow impacted in a greater number of accidents and even fatal injuries in some individuals. Mortality rates in traffic in Brazil are well above the international average, with figures around 23 deaths in traffic accidents per 100,000 inhabitants, representing the second cause of death among young adults and putting us in fourth place among the countries and in seventh place when it comes to child mortality. In Brazil, the Mobile Emergency Service and the Integrated Service Trauma Care Emergency provide appropriate assistance to traffic accident victims, until it is delivered in a hospital unitfor continuity of care and definitive treatment. Doctors who make hospital care can use protocols such as Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), aiming the best treatment for these patients. Medical literature illustrates the importance of professional qualifications of those involved in the care of multiple traumas, and evaluation of service to traffic accident victims in the emergency room physicians, regardless of specialty exercised by them, can bring us information. This reason that planned the design of this study, listing the profile of patient traffic accident victim treated at emergency service two referenced hospitals and analyzing the outcome of these with the type of care provided. |
