Mudanças e valores organizacionais : um estudo de caso na Cocamar Cooperativa Agroindustrial

Resumo: | The aim of this study is to analyze the way internal changes, carried out in the period between 1990 and 2005, affected or not the organizational values of an agricultural cooperative 'Cocamar Cooperativa Agroindustrial' - located in the city of Maringá, North of Paraná State. The method of investigation that characterizes the research is the unitary case study, by using multiple evidence sources. The primary data were obtained by semi-structured interviews with the leaders and managers of Cocamar Cooperative. The secondary data, collected by consulting the cooperative files, internal documents and publications - was accomplished by the cooperative itself or under its supervision and authorization. The data analysis was made through descriptive-qualitative procedures, by both, content analysis and documental analysis. Thus, the main changes occurred in the period investigated, which happened in the internal organization extent, were identified and classified as administrative, organizational, financial and marked affected. The organizational values were identified for both periods, the decade of 90, as well as regarding the present time, in relation to: organizational identity; leadership; not written rules and external guidance. The analysis of data led to the conclusion that, Cocamar faced financial problems in the decade of 90, which have, consequently, threatened the continuity of the cooperative activities. In order to face and overcome such problems, the cooperative has adopted a series of changes in areas concerning the administrative, organizational, financial and market field, which signaled to the need of undergoing a higherstandard professional management, on part of the administration, in the search for operational efficiency. Consequently, through the identification of developed, modified and abandoned values, a change in organizational values was verified in the period studied. The analysis allowed concluding that such an organizational values change has privileged the internal development of typical values of the organization, which had as a target, the competitive market, in detriment to equality and solidarity, the inherent values emphasized by the cooperative. However, it was verified that, the values preserved in the organizational culture of Cocamar led to internal changes. Thus, the relationship between the internal changes and the organizational values was an 'association relationship', because allowed that internal changes led to organizational values change and the organizational values led to internal changes. |
