Planejando paisagens : sistema de espaços livres em pequenos municípios do norte do Paraná - apontamentos para qualificação

Considering the importance that open spaces have in terms of environmental conservation and their role in public life activities, this research deals with aspects related to how theses spaces are planned and managed in smaller municipalities. The municipalities of Mandaguari and Marialva will be analyzed as case studies. Theses municipalities are located in northern Paraná and participate in an occupation plan that was initially conceived by a British-funded company named Companhia de Terras Norte do Paraná, and undertaken by Companhia Melhoramentos Norte do Paraná, which encompassed 62 urban centers and was noteworthy for its initial plan for urban open spaces. However, the plan´s areas of urban expansion did not follow the same planning requirements and, currently, there are conflicts even among the initial centers regarding how their roles are to be performed. Therefore, the present research proposes to present notes that may contribute to environmental conservation and public life activities by analyzing the current configuration of these spaces and their management in order to improve them.
