Resumo: | The main objective of this research is to focus on the principles that guide the actions related to agriculture of Mokiti Okada Research Center (MPC) located in Ipeúna, São Paulo. The method used was the case study, with the use of non-participant observation of activities in the MPC, desk research and interviews. The study also discussed the approach to the new paradigm of Sustainable Development and Alternative Movements that emerged as a result of conservative modernization of agriculture strongly present in the twentieth century. It was observed that the principles of Natural Agriculture which are the MPC's operational focus is characterized by the practice of sustainable agriculture without the use of pesticides and the promotion of values towards quality and sustainability of life on the planet. The importance of this study is the ability to promote and replicate this more equitable, sustainable and lower cost of living and develop agriculture through the development and implementation of public policies for municipalities |
