Resumo: This research aims to study the formation of Cascavel-PR, recovering, analyzing and characterizing, from the perspective of urbanism, the spatial planning physical aspects, the transformations and the road structure and conformational influential agents present in the city since its inception (20 decade) until 1989, when are perceptive the urbanist resonances of the Jaime Lerner. Therefore, in function of recent and scarce research about urbanism in western Paraná cities, especially in relation to Cascavel due to the fact of not belonging to any settler, a city literature review was critical, where it was found of great relevance the complement of research regarding to the context and history through other knowledge areas such as history, education, economics, etc. Facilitating the understanding about the city formation process under the urban aspect, the research is divided basically into three parts: formation of West Paraná historical background, presentation and discussion of Jaime Lerner proposal considering his participation on The Master Plan of Curitiba and also its implementation, and, verification and analysis of the proposed project to Cascavel in relation to Curitiba, including effectively implemented ideas. From this study, it was understood that Cascavel, despite not having belonged to any settlement plan, it obtained in its geographical position, in its road crossing composition and in ease of properties acquisition (vacant lands required from the State), the power to instigate and attract new settlers, so the road junction along to economic factors contributed to the population growth and then with the density and urban sprawl. It was found that Cascavel is a city with spontaneous initial occupation, but it?s planned from the moment it had its village recognized, culminating in its emancipation. Thus, in the following years, because of the urban growth, consecutive municipal administrations expressed concern in this regard, hiring, developing and implementing urban interventions aimed to adapt the city to infrastructure needs. In fact, when Jaime Lerner performed its proposition to Cascavel, he used several resources apllied to The Master Plan of Curitiba, two of which were executed by the year of 1989: The Bus Station and the Boardwalk Brazil Avenue, in addition to meeting and consecration of Brazil Avenue as a linear axis, as well as apllied to Curitiba
