Resumo: Currently the university sport is organized and managed by entities legally recognized (Sport / Journal). In this scenario, student organizations recently organized themselves and created their own sports competitions, with an autonomous management by students, organized into leagues (Sport / Party). In Paraná this reality is present, with official competitions such as the University Games of Paraná, and competitions of this new model, as the Paraná Legal Games and the Inter-Athletic Games Maringa. Both competitions are attended sports disputes, but differ in relation to official parties, gifts in the case of competitions organized by academic, and main focus of this study. To do this we created a direct descriptive qualitative research with interviews with leaders Paranaense Federation of University Sports, and interviews with organizers academic Sports / Party. As an auxiliary tool was created a diary from observations of university sports competitions: University Games of Paraná, Paraná Legal Games and Inter-Athletic Games Maringa. As a result we found some important points for discussion. As a first point we highlight the parties representing the main attraction for the games, with the presence of many external participants to academia. The economic importance of holidays for sports competition represented another important point of discussion, explaining the relationship between the parties and sports competitions, with the profits of parties being used for payment of the competition logistics and justifying the competitions in some cities due to financial transactions generated by competition. Finally we highlight the image that the parties transmit to the local community where competitions are held, with complaints related to the behavior of the participants of the competitions of Sport / Event, as well as cases involving the police and other bodies. We can conclude that the parties are presented as a point of tension between the Paraná university sports agents, representing a point of divergence between the various agents entered in subfield.
