Resumo: | The purpose of the current dissertation is to examine the anti-fascist struggle of the anarchists in São Paulo between the years 1932 and 1935, based on the editions of A Plebe and A Lanterna – the two main libertarian periodicals which circulated in this period. Once analyzed, it makes an effort to understand what were the anti-fascist procedures taken by the anarchist at this historical background – noticeable by the expansion and strengthening of far-right political movements – evidencing both what they have performed autonomously and the anti-fascist struggles episodes which they have taken part along with others left-wing political parties, as seen in the „Battle of the Sé Square‟ (Batalha da Praça da Sé) on October seventh, 1934. By the critical inquiry of the resources, we have noticed that the anti-fascism of the anarchist in São Paulo were not restricted to the militancy acts, but has also come to pass in a political-ideological realm, as they have published in their journals many texts criticizing fascisms – in an effort to achieve a straight influence upon their reader‟s political alignment in order to propel them to take an anti-fascist posture. In this regard, part of the current research is also going to be dedicated to the analyses of the anti-fascist ideas present in these important channels of anarchist information and propaganda. |
