Resumo: |
Objective: To describe the epidemiological characteristics and trace curves of incidences of violence perpetrated on children and adolescents in 2003 and 2009, according to records of the Guardianship Councils and the Welfare Center/CREAS of Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil. Method: A descriptive study of case series, based on the notifications registered in those institutions in 2003 and 2009. In the analysis, we used linkage between databases to avoid duplication and coefficients were calculated from incidence by age and sex of the victims, according to IBGE. Results: The dissertation is structured in two articles: the first one is presented in the chapter of results (Article 1), while the second is still in the process of analysis and writing of the text. Article 1: "Incidence of different types of abuse in children and adolescents in Brazil: a study of rates according to the victim’s age and gender in 2003 and 2009.” Objective: Analyze the incidence of different types of abuse against children and adolescents reported at the institutions of complaints in the city of Feira de Santana, State of Bahia, Brazil, in 2003 and 2009. Conclusions: the increase in records of violence against children in the county in the years studied confirms the high risk of violation to which this segment of the population is exposed, it highlights the important participation of the population in the social control of complaints, and suggests the need of investment in strengthening the actions of Network of Organizations through integration and inter-institutional coordination. |
