This study addresses the analysis of care provision to pregnant women at a Family Health Unit within the municipal Health Care Network of Salvador (BA), aiming to contribute to the enhancement of interprofessional prenatal care. It is a qualitative study, grounded in the action research framework, involving professionals from the Family Health Unit and pregnant women undergoing prenatal care. Data collection initially involved two pedagogical workshops (one with professionals and another with pregnant women) using a flowchart as an analytical tool for representing the care process. Subsequently, focus groups were conducted with these participants. For data analysis, Minayo's Thematic Content Analysis method was used, dived into three stages (pre-analysis, exploration of material, treatment of results), in addition to triangulation of the data obtained. The results reveal that the teams have a fragmented work process, limited actions, posing challenges for health promotion, disease prevention, and collaborative practices. Additional identified challenges include structural issues in the municipal network affecting pregnant women's access to complementary exams and local urban violence. Moreover, most professionals are either unaware of or do not comprehend the current funding policy for primary care - Previne Brasil - and its role in improving prenatal care. As result, in light of the above, an action plan was created aimed at qualifying the work process. |
