Resumo: This study shows the role of Primary Health Care (PHC) in health systems. Thus taking as a starting point the realities described in past papers about the access of the population to health services, from the first contact with the system to their need for more complex care. The present study is an analysis of the scientific literature through an integrative review of what has been produced on the subject. The analysis of the results was classified based on the structural, operational and relational dimensions of the analytical category called “access” and seek to respond if care administration by the PHC is able to improve access to health services. Understanding the sample analyzed as part of knowledge to be studied, the results stated in this paper point to validation that care administration can improve access to health services and furthermore provide useful tools and sites of action in seek for universality of health systems.
