Resumo: | This dissertation aims to analyze the screen of the artist Otoni Mesquita entitled The Procession (from the exhibition "Cycles of Eldorado") and aims to highlight the way the painter presents his city in the context of the Amazonian cities and their representations. It was decided to read the work in question in a narrative perspective, understanding it as a text in itself: a statement that gains dimension and communicative action. For the reading - or analysis - of the canvas, we cross the tools of photography, the golden curve and the rule of thirds, in order to give the research that presents an interdisciplinary methodology in the field of Interart Studies and the mutual study of various artistic forms. From the decomposition of the narrative structure of the screen into smaller units, it becomes possible to understand how Otoni Mesquita constructs a narrative image of a city permeated by the dream imaginary, in a cross-linking of beings and objects that, in movement, constitute a true procession. |
