The Tarumã-Açu River Basin is located in the northern and western area of the municipality of Manaus, a tributary of the left margin of the Rio Negro, with an area of 133.754.40 ha, representing 16% of the Amazon that this area concentrates an urban population of approximately 496,158 inhabitants and population density of 44 hab/ ha. The research was developed with the purpose of evaluating the view of the three entities, public power, civil society and users who are physically based within the basin, with respect to knowledge about the basin committee, its functionality and propositions for its restructuring. The aim of the survey were people who live there, work and recreate in the Tarumã-Açu basin aiming at the veracity of information and local reality. Interviews were conducted in 32 dispersed points in the basin in order to make a qualitative sample of the local reality. Data collection was carried out in seven expeditions, two by waterway and five by land. In the collection by fluvial transport, users of the Tarumã-Açu basin of ecotourism, floating houses in the commercial activity of show house, sport and aquatic leisure, gas stations, bars and restaurants, municipal school and indigenous community were interviewed. In the data collection by land transportation were interviewed users in commerce of the type groceries, in community to the side of the road, user of collective transport, employee of great company, farmer, proprietors and employee of seaside resorts, restaurants, employee of convenience in Marina , snack bar, floriculture, public and private marina, state school teacher, resident, driver of fluvial public transport, responsible for the Association of Canoeiros of the Public Transport and autonomous professional.
