From the theoretical assumptions of French Discourse analysis, this research constitutes a relationship of language/literature interface, focusing on the meanings produced for the house and for the street , private and public spaces, respectively, represented in the urban scene of the novel Lucíola (1862), by José de Alencar, and its effects on the meaning of the subject ( male and female ) . The conducting thread of the research is the urban space, the city, taken as a symbolic space, which has its materiality and its specific forms of meaning (Orlandi, 2012c). Since the establishment of the urban scene in textual and literary materiality, our corpus, the urban space is said, is signified by the authorial gesture. Therefore, the research question of the investigation is: how the opposition between home and street works as signifiers of private space and public space in the city, and which are the representations of men and women as subjects in the novel Lucíola by José de Alencar? The anchor of this challenge is in the fact of José de Alencar be before writer and author of the cited work, one subject-author traversed by the current ideology, which materializes by the production conditions, encompassing the immediate context and the socio - Historic conditions. The subject - literate readers are primarily women, producing/reproducing authorized speeches by the social formation in which inserts the subject-author. We are interested in knowing which effects resonate senses of literary discourse, cutting, from the constitution of the urban scene, the house and the street. We seek to understand how these effects are established by what is visible and appears as a saturated discourse, from which one can read/interpret/understand the oppositions between these spaces and their senses effects around the subject and which discourse sustain them in speeches in /for the language in history, resulting in the formation of an imaginary discursive of the house and the street and therefore of the feminine and masculine subject in urban space of the nineteenth century. It is relevant, the fact that José de Alencar be Brazilian and subscribe, as well as other subjects of the social formation of the season in a European discursive formation. Being in the exercise of his authorial role, interpellated by ideology and crossed the unconscious, this affiliation is relevant in constituting the subject - women, from the home, the street, and the space they occupy. |
