Starting from the formation of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, which is marked by disputes and ruptures on its history, the present dissertation points to a moment of identity crisis of the extremely plural population of a newly formed state. In response to such a crisis, the power institutions by means of the use of discourse appropriates of the natural patrimony, pointing the biome Pantanal - Patrimony of the Humanity by Unesco - as an state unifying element and identity generator. By the Foucauldian theoretical glasses, this research of historiographical documental basis, holds debates towards the possibility of the identity of this state have been built by the means of a order of discourses enunciated by the institutions holders of know-power, where it subjective the population to assume a proposed identity, but without loosing of sight the receptivity of this subjects toward the enunciated discourses. It is a historiographical research of the set of conditions of possibilities toward the assertive that the Pantanal of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, natural patrimony, is a essential part of the identity of the state population. |
