Resumo: The context of this research seeks to address a gap evidenced in literature that points the need for studies that bring results for people in the elderly group who were born in the 30s, 40s and 50s and that show content about Information and Communication Technologies , since these people did not have the technologies that we have today. Thus, the general objective "to analyze the main factors that determine acceptance and use of Information and Communication Technologies by the elder community in the city of Guarapuava - PR ”. The research focus is part of the specific objectives, describing the information and communication technologies most used by the elderly, identifying the main factors related to the acceptance of information and communication technology and analyzing the perception for their acceptance. To do that, a research was carried out that was classified as descriptive, with survey procedures and a quantitative approach. The data collection took place in a transversal way, it was collected in March 2020, using a self-administered structured questionnaire, applied to the elderly in two neighborhoods in Guarapuava-Pr. For data analysis, descriptive statistics were used, the procedures took place through the tabulation of the data collected using the SPSS®- Statistical Package forthe Social Sciences®. For the analysis of the constructs, it was used the mean, standard deviation, reliability test (Cronbach's Alpha), Cluster analysis and “t -Student” test. As a result, it was evident, when analyzing the means, that the perceived Utility fator, when using the internet, is seen as a positive point by the elderly. Another positive factor was found that the use of information generated through technologies is more effective and practical, and that having the knowledge of said technologies provides ease to access other media. However, the Ease of Use factor showed that the participants had difficulty learning to use information and communication technologies, since these are not developed specifically for the current group. Therefore, it is concluded that there is acceptance of the elderly about information and communication technologies, as they argue that the internet is beneficial for their relationships between family members and friends, but it also revealed that there is resistance from this group in not accepting these technologies and that in this research were denominated "not included" and are factors related to the low level of education and income of the respondents that were presented in the sociodemographic results. Consequently, people who are part of the group of people not included in this study are considered to be digitally and even socially excluded from other elderly people who accept and use of new information and communication technologies.
