The research submits the text by Aruanda (1957), a work of autobiographical chronicles, written by Eneida de Moraes (1904-1971), to the method of successive readings proposed by Roberto Schwarz (2006), according to the principles of reading and analysis of the dialectical criticism. This work consists of carrying out three successive readings, in an attempt to identify, between the lines of the text, elements capable of presenting a new perspective on the narrated facts and the writing of Eneida de Moraes. In the first reading, we analyze the structure of the text and the literary genre to which it belongs, pointing out how the author unites the chronicle and the memory in a foreground reading, called novelistic. The second reading process is carried out in two stages and seeks to identify how the external is presented in the work, revealing the political events that marked the first Brazilian dictatorial period, a cut in the period from 1930 to 1945, also presenting the perspective of the facts by the writing bias and female experience within a society that is based on principles based on the ideal of patriarchy. This second reading is called political and patriarchal. Such readings will lead us to the final reading, which aims to materialize the proposal of this work, presenting a new perspective on the Aruanda text. This third reading is carried out in a countercurrent way, in which we delve between the lines of the text and gather elements of its writing, which denote how the individual and collective events described by the author mix, making the work deal with the writing about herself and the political and social events experienced by the author. Thus, we seek to bring a new look to the work Aruanda, identifying how the author, from a unique perspective, presents memories that deal with her life and denounces those she defines as “the tragic, dark, disturbing and long days of 1935”.
