The environmental issue is gaining the agenda for discussions on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with respect to the making of sustainable practices. This is manifested due to the fact that HEIs be seen, to society as examples of role models, who play a role in training and critical citizens. This thesis aims to raise questions about the social and environmental responsibility of the State of Paraná State universities, answering the following research problem: how the Public Institutions of Higher Education in the State of Paraná answer the expectations of environmental sustainability and which practices They have incorporated in their space? The research aims to identify the practices to environmental sustainability in the State of Paraná IES, aiming to understand the motivating factors and barriers involved in this process. The work is characterized as a qualitative research of descriptive character, which helped to clarify the motivating aspects of environmental sustainability actions in the public IHE Paraná, as well as identifying the applicants barriers in implementing these programs. The results were analyzed and discussed from the perspective of used bibliographies. Indicate among the main challenges, the need for IES formalize an institutional commitment to the creation of an environmental policy that represents the effort of the institutions in developing environmental sustainability in their territories. To this end, a form of participative management and the establishment of coordinating structures for environmental initiatives, would expand the positive results thereof. |
