Certificação FSC – Padrão SLIMF: Perfil de propriedades rurais vinculadas a programa de fomento florestal

Resumo: The aim of this study was to perform a diagnosis of the situation of small farms linked to forest development program in the region of Campos Gerais, at the State of Paraná, Brazil, to the demands of the FSC certification process, Standard SLIMF. The research was conducted in a company, located in the Campos Gerais region. The survey was managed using a structured interview, based on the Standard FSC certification for Forest Management on a small scale and low intensity, with the promoted properties and rural workers. A hundred of properties were sampled, which were checked the environmental, economic and social aspects. In the properties were analyzed the following items: Permanent Preservation Area, Legal Reserve, obedience to the laws and FSC Principles and Criteria, the profile of properties in relation to the environmental, labor and tax profile of the producer and his property. As a result, all the sampled properties require some adaptation to meet the requirements of the certification. There is a missing part of the documentation of the properties. As Social issues most properties are already in agreement, however the contractors should be regularized in some points to full fitness with certification as environmental issues, the properties are mostly in accordance with the present law. The interviewed fomented demonstrated the viability of forest cultivation, and most of the income comes from the property, showing the social importance of the forest development program of the company.
