Resumo: |
The academic library has been seen as an agent of knowledge development to researchers and general community, indicating how users can make better use of properly cataloged and organized collections available. This search aimed to evaluate the role of the academic library as a place of production and stimulation for knowledge creation. To achieve this goal, were discussed that and other functions, as a role of cultural former of its members, given the increasing development of existing technologies and resources. The depositary function of the collection was compared to the technological and identified profusion changes with and within the academic library, considering that the evolution from print to digital has been evaluated. Interviews were conducted with academic libraries??? management experts, who corroborated with the changes identified by the authors surveyed. From the texts and interviews conducted, it was seen that the library space is being discussed and reworked from technological changes and the discussion itself on the role of the university in our society. |
