In order to investigate the repercussions of social issues in the media decision-making process, we chosestudythe theme of the reduction of the penal age with adolescents in a temporary hospitalization system. Our focus group was formed by male boys from several satellites cities of the Federal District, between 13 and 17 years. Having as reference the social process involving the reality significance, anchored in the Bourdieu’s concepts of field and habitus, and also inthe mediation processes based in the cultural and reception skills matrices of Barbero,we developed an analytical method to investigate the topic about the reduction of the criminal majority to adolescents. Differently ofa social discourse reproduction we could observe that the adolescents searched understand yours reality from a single place, that has solid values and modes of conduction related with thesocial field that they recognized. It was notice that the process of make senseinvolving this adolescents occurs more in the ambit of the comprehension than of representation, because they confront and question the stereotypes of marginal life passed by tabloid newspapers, that are their main reference of consumption. |
