Resumo: This study analyzes the murder of Lieutenant Cleto Campelo, which occurred in 1926 in Gravatá-PE, given the lasting impact that "the fall of the lieutenant" has on the city's memory. Thus, a case study was conducted on the crime, considering its background and its repercussions. To achieve the results presented in this report, various documents were utilized, such as newspaper clippings, articles, dissertations, books, and relevant blogs related to the case under study. It is noteworthy that dialogues were held with historians and theorists, including Carlo Ginzburg, who, with his Evidential Paradigm, provided us with the framework to investigate the aforementioned crime based on evidence; Tânia Regina de Luca, with her "history of, in, and through the press" prompted us to make inferences about how the event was disseminated by the media; Roger Chartier, who enabled us to understand the representations of the world as social constructions designed by individuals and groups; and Boris Kossoy, who guided us to better reflect on the photographic images that portrayed the tenentista context. In addition to these theorists, information from primary sources was cross-referenced with the work of intellectuals who delve into both "tenentismo" and the history of Pernambuco in the 1920s. As a result of this research, an illustrated e-book was developed, targeting 9th-grade students in municipal schools in Gravatá/PE.
