Resumo: Occupational therapy aims to enable people to engage in the roles, tasks and activities that have meaning for them in their daily lives and that define their lives, including work. The idea of Support Paradigm emphasizes the need to not only prepare the person with disabilities, but also the environment. The general objective of the study was to characterize a servants with disabilities IFES checking its functionality, autonomy and satisfaction. The study included nine technical and administrative staff with disabilities who entered between 2000 and 2012 IFES, through public tender with vacancies for persons with disabilities in accordance with the Federal Decree 3298/1999. Three instruments were applied: Functional Independence Measure (FIM); Checklist for analysis of the conditions of the post Work Computer (Checklist) and a semi-structured interview. In the analysis of MIF the participants obtained scores of independence modified and independence total; in Checklist a post was classified with ergonomic conditions good and the others as reasonable and an interview semi-structured: of the nine interviewed, seven make use of technology Assistive (TA) in their daily, and only one specific to work and everyone if showed satisfied with their performance and find that, at the moment, require no another resource. The servers interviewed have deficiencies lightweight and high level of schooling, clashing than appears often in literature. However, none of them would have entered a university without the "Quota Law". However, due to the small sample size, it is not possible to say that people with mild disabilities, if they tried to enter through the wide competition would be reproved for being harmed by their disability at the time of the contest, or if they will just thicken the immense group qualified people who are reproved in public tenders. Wonders then that this law may be benefiting just a very specific portion of people with disabilities. So necessary is a wider policy to continue protecting people with mild disabilities, but look especially for people with moderate and severe disabilities so that they can enter the labor market and thereby exercise their citizenship. Anyway, it is essential to provide the physical tools, intellectual and social so that the disabled person is effectively included into society as lawful citizen held and participatory.
