Resumo: |
This dissertation discusses men and health. Through two articles, we understand that the speeches of men and of Política Nacional de Atenção Integral à Saúde do Homem/ PNAISH (National Politics for Integral Attention to Men's Health) equate and differentiate. The first article refers to the masculinity and their new models, passing by the relationship between men and women and with the background of the song "Superman" by Gilberto Gil. The second article, empirical, contains discussions and analysis of the research that was developed through a documental research, of interviews with health professionals and focal groups with men. In it, we discussed how men care of their health and how PNAISH see men's health. Looking at the production modes of masculinity nowadays and their speeches about health is to pay attention to behaviors that, due to inheritance ruled between sexes‟ differences, contributes to hinder the access of men to health services. The speeches reveal that despite a positive change in the behavior of men about their health care, there is still much to do and PNAISH is the beginning of a challenge that draws a path of prevention and health promotion. Besides that, is necessary that men be well received and listened in health services in order that they can feel occupying a space that traditionally is seen as belonging to women. |
