Resumo: Ethics has been the subject of meticulous scrutiny throughout history, engaging a plethora of scholars ranging from philosophers to anthropologists, sociologists, theologians, and experts in religious studies, among other exponents from various fields of knowledge. This endeavor aims to understand and outline the most dignified social conduct for community coexistence. At present, this quest for ethical elucidation has entered a stage of marked intensification, propelled by the ethical crisis that touches the contemporary social fabric. This crisis reflects the pluralism of ideas, beliefs, and values that challenge traditional ethical and moral precepts, especially those emanating from the Holy Scriptures or religious conceptions. In the face of this challenge, biblical ethics, by strengthening the pillars of life and harmonizing with the fundamental principles of respect for human dignity, holds the potential to mitigate the current ethical crisis that is outlined. The ethical dimension of the bible emphasizes the importance of giving effectiveness to the precept of “loving your neighbor as yourself.” This directive implies that social conduct should mirror this love for one's neighbor.
