Resumo: This thesis analyses the theoretical constructions of Mediation and Mediatization, aiming at its conceptual models and questioning in which measure its ideas are still valuable for the study of communication. It questions what is particular about such frames, to what degree are they similar or different and what are their contributions to the problems of communication. We make an exploratory analysis of these suppositions, placing them on its historical background, and propose their enclosing into three thematic axis of discussion communications, culture and technology and through a comparative approach, we analyze these constructions. This path shows us that what is most peculiar in these frames are the very way of approaching technology, culture and communication; and that they have even more connections as it may seem primarily.
