This research analyzes the communist political imaginary on media during the 2014 Maranhão’s election, when the first governor affiliated in a communist party wins an election in the Brazil’s history. From the theoretical view about changes in the political narratives’ changes in the post-modernity, this essay considers the importance of the imaginary’s studies for understand the sharing of ideas, values and emotions in the policial sphere in contemporary societies. Introducing this imaginary's expressions on media and the electoral transfigurations in the post-modernity, a parallel is made between the media narratives and the formation of public opinion, observing the limits of the mass media on the electoral decisions. The relevance of the concept and dynamics of the imaginary is also highlighted to understand the current political mobilization of ideas and values. Considering this theoretical view, the essay analyses the media narratives and party propaganda during four months. It build a scenery of narratives contests about communist imaginary, with the most important themes and arguments wich reissue, update and give new meanings to this imaginary observed in the national history and society. |
