Resumo: |
Cancer is a disease that has been the biggest cause of death in the world. There are several types of cancer such as, breast, prostate, skin, among others. Melanoma skin cancer presents 132.000 cases worldwide, which makes it necessary to search for cures, drugs to fight against, and means of prevention. The most indicated treatment for melanoma is surgical and invasive followed by chemotherapy and medications. However, there is a constant search for new treatments, but most of them present high toxicity and side effects. Therefore, new drugs are being investigated in order to find a drug for the treatment of melanoma with syntheses of low toxicity and side effects. Based on this, the present research aims to test the antitumor activity of the compound containing a Zn⁺² complex with the antiepileptic drug volproic acid and the action of the Zn⁺² complex with the non-steriods diclofenac anti-inflammatory drugs and ibuprofen, PRS22-Zn (Diclofenac) 2Nic and PRS40 Zn (Ipuprofen) 2 (Nic) 2. The data demonstrate that the compounds PRS22 and PRS40 present greater cytotoxicity in relation to diclofenac and Ibuprofen. Compounds PRS01 and PRS17 did not show cytotoxicity in the MTT assay, but had a death effect when assayed by the apoptosis assay. These results indicate the importance of modifying the molecules with Zinc complexes. |
