Resumo: This research sought to identify, through a campus environmental diagnosis of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), how occurs the internalization of practices and policies for sustainability and accessibility in this university aiming to contribute to the understanding of this process in higher education. Initially, the work gathered information from the website of environmentalization PUCRS and institutional documents. The results were grouped into categories related to teaching, research, extension and management. In a second step, we applied the Test of Sustainability to assess how users perceive the Porto Alegre campus sustainability measures and how they act individually in this way. From the analysis, we claim that the PUCRS follows a trend of sustainability and institutionalization and this process can be observed in Brazilian and Iberoamericans universities as well. At the same time, the response shows the users' perception reveals the necessity to strengthen environmental education for citizenship. Likewise, the dialogue between the concept of accessibility begins to make connections in the field theory, which still deserves further elaboration.
