Resumo: |
This research analyzes how manifests the relation between the private sources of resources and the Brazilian elections candidates, under the auspices of the current funding model campaigns adopted in the country. Starting from the study of the checking of campaign accounts submitted to the Electoral Court by 228 candidates competed for the post of Senator of the Republic in the elections of 2010, this work seeks to discover patterns in finance showing the existence of a relationship between the electoral performances of those candidates and obtaining money from private sources. Also sought to identify and establish the behavioral profile of the major private donors regarding their strategies of support by funding candidates. The data presented here support the hypothesis that the contribution of financial resources is one of the determining factors for electoral success as well as the composition of these resources is concentrated in large donations from industries with strong linkages with the State, bringing serious distortions to the Brazilian electoral system. |
