Resumo: |
With the increased competitiveness of the market, organizations are looking for solutions to improve the performance of their projects. In this context, social media appear as options to support Project Management (PM), presenting a more collaborative format. However, companies do not explore the vision and integrated use of these tools, becoming they underused to support PM in organizations. In the financial institutions scenario, there are several regulatory requirements that request evidence to prove the execution of necessary minimum operations. There are also management difficulties by the Project Managers with the agility in the communication, dissemination of information and the use of several media. And, finally, there are few models of collaborative tools in empirically evaluated projects. Thus, the objective of this research is to empirically evaluate an integrated social media framework to support project management in a private financial institution. For such purpose, this research used the Design Science Research as a research paradigm and the Technical Action Research as a method to reduce the gap between research and practice. This work is characterized as qualitative, using interview techniques, documental analysis, direct observation and work group. The integrated social media framework, SOME4PM, was used as an artifact. It was observed and improved its application in a strategic project, addressing the set of control activities, communication and dissemination and, storage. The main theoretical contribution of this work is the empirical evaluation of an integrated social media framework to support PM in a private financial institution. It was possible to elaborate a remodeling of the framework, which helps to extend the existing theory about PM through the use of social media. The main practical contribution is the disponibilization of the remodeleted framework (SM4PM-FIN) and evaluated in the field of research for application in new projects, with a proposal of macro steps for implementation. The main beneficiaries are the organizations which work with PM, financial institutions, project managers, involved teams, IT professionals or from any area of development. |
