Introduction: Nowadays there is already a significant increase in elderly people. Being that in this aging process it is necessary to deal with changes in daily life and to make difficult choices, often related to the elderly's own health and the processes that they may go through, as is the case of retirement. Objective: In view of this, this project aimed to assess the influence of the professional bond in the decision-making process for retirement. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study with a sample of 50 people, composed of elderly people in the general population and university professors, all aged 60 or over, regardless of gender, who are already retired. The data were collected through interviews, from a structured script, with seven instruments. After the data were analyzed quantitatively, through descriptive and analytical statistics. In the descriptive phase, the variables were presented using frequencies and measures of central tendency. Result: The present study found in both samples: the majority were female, married, who declared themselves white, living with another person, did not report having any changes or health problems, retired and are no longer Working. In terms of quality of life, the worst quality of life was associated with the question of death and dying. The occupational role of a family member was present in the past, present and future and considered as an important role. Perception of low coercion, that is, less than or equal to 50%. And they are at the most advanced stage in moral psychological development, which is the integrated one. Conclusion: The present study found that in both samples the majority of the participants had a low perception of coercion and the different variables investigated were similar between the samples. |
