Resumo: |
The present study has the goal to discuss universal basic income, as well as propose a form of implementation in Brazil, calculating its costs and forms of funding. In the first chapter, we discuss briefly what is an universal basic income, its characteristics, main favorable arguments and critics, in addition to a review of pilot projects and initiatives already implemented. In the second chapter we explore the role of the unconditional cash transfers politics in the context of developing countries. In the third chapter we focus our analysis in the Brazilian case, exploring the problem of poverty in the country, the Programa Bolsa Família, and present the proposal of universal basic income for the country. The cost is calculated and its respective forms of financing are shown in detail, proposing a redistribution of income in the country through adjustments in the tax system |
