Resumo: |
The aim of this actual research is to analyze the set of monuments displayed at the Independência and Ibirapuera Park: Monument to the Independency of Brazil, Monument to the Bandeiras, Obelisk of São Paulo and the Iburapuera Park Construction. This paper aims to highlight the potential of these construction works as a source of critic coverage and comprehend the narratives, speeches, public policies, the related interests, the power relations and all the historic process involved and its relation to the city and its identity. The study favors two important moments to the history of São Paulo and Brazil, the Brazilian Independency Centenary and the IV Centenary of the city of São Paulo. The analysis favors the actions related to protect the memory and historic heritage preservation through the interventions proceeded by the CONDEPHAAT, which is an organization responsible for the protection of heritage buildings. For this, the minutes book from the city council of São Paulo, images, the register committee, public tenders, correspondence and processes of federal preservation order were used as a source of research. This thesis proposal also considers the historic processes that englobes the works constructions, their artistic importance and their relationship with the city of São Paulo until contemporaneity |
