Resumo: |
This research aims to investigate the literary work of the Brazilian writer Emília Freitas (1855-1908), from the state of Ceará, with a focus on her poetic and behavioral insurgencies. By analyzing her work, we sought to understand her historical experience, which involves reclaiming women authors and positioning them in history as feminist women, even before the creation of the term "feminism." This analysis is grounded in the efforts of other researchers to create a historiography of women's struggles, specifically in the fields of literature and ideas. The selected works for analysis in this dissertation are primarily the novel A Rainha do Ignoto (1899), in dialogue with other texts by the author. The theoretical framework for this research includes the concepts of Representation and Cultural History by Roger Chartier, the Constructivist Theory of Culture by Stuart Hall, and the understanding of what constitutes Literature by Antônio Candido |
