Resumo: |
This research aims to identify the advances and challenges for higher education and teacher training in Angola, from the educational reform implemented in 2002. Analyzing teacher education in Angola historically refers to the social, political and economic issues that the country faced before and shortly after Angola's independence, and the end of the colonial period, with the departure of the Portuguese in 1975. The absence of educational policies in Angola can initially be attributed to the priority given to the internal war effort, which only ended with the death of Jonas Savimbi, unita's former political leader in 2002. The internal political struggles for political hegemony, which followed, after the end of the colonial period, maintained economic, political and social instability in Angola. Due to these local historical conditions, social areas, including education, were not among the country's economic and cultural priorities. The civil war has left several consequences to this day, but, aware of these local historical conditions, educational policies and the training of educators have been the targets of much attention of the Ministry of Education and Competent Bodies themselves, in the search for overcoming these historical conditions. In particular, the lack of teacher training, the educational reform 2002, when analyzing the lack of preparation and opportunities of many teachers regarding quality training and lack of mastery of the content to be taught, is noted. Within this context, the Educational Reform was proposed, 2002, the object of this research. The change and sustainable development of a country involves public policies favorable to the immediate context and that responds to the needs diagnosed in research, dialogue and exchanges of experiences. The Government needs to work in collaboration with its staff in order to chart new paths to improve the education system, promoting quality education that responds to the entire Angolan community and the problems that education has witnessed since the departure of the Portuguese to the present day |
