Resumo: This paper is about the non-monetary aspects of Copyrights. After presenting a general notion of Copyright, focusing on the need to view this subject from a civil-constitutional standpoint, the author defines the moral aspect of copyrights as a non-monetary right. The author thus describes the relationship between copyrights and the dignity of the human person, human rights and personality rights, and finally explains how the dignity of the human person is present in all non-monetary situations. The author also discusses the ownership of the Copyright and, for said purpose, also the notions of original and derivative works. Another point discussed in the paper is the relationship between the assignment of Copyrights and the non-monetary rights protected by them. The author emphasizes, at that juncture, the possibility of transacting non-monetary copyrights. In addition, the author describes the damages caused as a result of violations to nonmonetary copyrights: the possibility of recognizing and redressing them and the purpose of their indemnification. Finally, the author researches foreign legal systems in order to compare the legal treatment granted to the non-monetary aspects of copyrights under said systems and the one granted under Brazilian laws
