Resumo: This essay proposes to establish, in Ana Maria Machado s books, the relation between writings and literacy criticism of the author, showing how both of them are based on similar aspects, revealing a literary project, ruled by the importance of literary reading. In order to do it, we are going to approach how criticism is essential for fictional creation and it is much more related to writing and reflecting than coordinating or praising the fiction. Her critic composition, therefore, highlights the creation, helping her to be understood as a title with wide fictional and critic creation and the criticism which explores at book universe such as Silenciosa Algazarra (2011), Como e por que ler os clássicos universais desde cedo (2002), Texturas: sobre leituras e escritos (2001) and also as fictional corpus História meio ao contrário (1978), Bisa Bia Bisa Bel (1982), Era uma vez um tirano (1982), Do outro lado tem segredos (1984), De fora da arca (1996), A audácia dessa mulher (1999) and A princesa que escolhia (2006). We emphasize her meaningful stories, nurtured by ambivalence and ruptures, filled in symbolism and how these lines cross throughout the reading because they come from a barrier rupture dynamics, depicting a political and ideological project from a set of themes which approach the debates about power, social relationships and the topics which come from them. Towards this position, we have the objective to study, in parallel, the master lines in Ana Maria Machado s critic and fictional writings, determining how both of speeches cross each other, revealing a literary project based on values which are described on literary reading the way for human being formation
